身為設(shè)計師、陶瓷藝術(shù)家和設(shè)計學(xué)學(xué)者，林博士以促進(jìn)設(shè)計、藝術(shù)、文化及可持續(xù)發(fā)展為己任。在藝術(shù)和設(shè)計方面, 頗有遠(yuǎn)見的工作經(jīng)歷及敏銳的觸覺為她提供了一套獨(dú)特的教學(xué)方法，培養(yǎng)優(yōu)質(zhì)設(shè)計師和藝術(shù)家，既能保留后學(xué)鮮明的個人特色，又能把他們培養(yǎng)成創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)業(yè)的表表者。

林博士專注的學(xué)術(shù)硏究方向為藝術(shù)、啟發(fā)創(chuàng)意、文化、發(fā)展創(chuàng)意教育課程及教學(xué)理念。她曾獲邀至日本、臺灣、泰國、英國及內(nèi)地的大學(xué)分享設(shè)計課程發(fā)展的心得。 林博士身兼多項公職，包括國際設(shè)計伙伴機(jī)構(gòu)委員、香港設(shè)計師協(xié)會 (HKDA) 副主席，環(huán)球設(shè)計大奬籌委會主席 (2012-2014)；學(xué)術(shù)職業(yè)資歷評審局學(xué)科專家、兒童教育研究及香港考試及評核局的課程發(fā)展議會委員 。

Dr. Lam Yan Yan, Principal Lecturer (Academic Development) of the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Lee Wai Lee); Former Head of the Department of Design Foundation Studies, HKDI. Dr. Lam’s professional work has been multifarious, spanning creative education and research, art for child and sustainable lifestyle, social innovation and the creative industry. She is a designer, ceramic artist and design academic with a mission to promote design, art and sustainability development. She integrates design sensibility with a yearning to create a flexible, fun and contemporary curriculum to best suit the special characteristics of design learners and trainers. Her research interest lies in curriculum, pedagogy, creative education, and social innovation. She was invited to share her inspiration on curriculum design by institutions in Japan, Taipei, Thailand, United Kingdom and Mainland China. She is actively engaged as subject specialist in art and design programme accreditation, executive members of curriculum development councils, research executive members in creative education at early childhood, tertiary and higher education, editor of conference proceedings and executive members of professional design associations. In 2016, Dr. Lam has invited to be the Visiting Professor of School of Design, Jiangnan University and Visiting Associate Professor of the Faculty of Design & Environment, Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong.
